Digging through an old hard drive, I found some of the very first electronic tunes I made. Armed with a mate's Yamaha CS1x and a copy of Cakewalk 3.1, I had started to explore the world of general midi....

22 years later, the original synth was long gone, but I loaded some of the files into Cakewalk by Bandlab and some of the old ideas started to capture my attention. "Life as we know it" in particular shone through. Some healthy tidying of the original midi data and a brand new palette of sounds brought the old music to life in a way that I didn't expect.

On hearing the rough archival mix, D.A.F.T. and The Lords of Misrule both asked if they could remix the track and I was more than glad to let them. They have two very different takes of the original and it was a joy to hear how each artist interpreted the piece. My eternal gratitude to them both.
